Services and Materials
Pre School Story Time (Ages 3-6) (Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. during the school year)
Lapsit (Ages 0-36 months) (10:30 a.m. Wednesdays)
Summer Reading Program
Computers The Library provides the use of computers with word processing. Patrons ten years of age and older may use the computers. Every patron must have in their possession, their valid library card and no outstanding fees or over due materials. During peak times, computer users may be limited to one hour on the computer. Computers shut down 15 minutes before the library closes.
Printing is ten cents per page for black and white. Color prints are fifty cents per page.
Internet Access The library provides free access to the world wide web. The computers are shut down 15 minutes before closing every day
FAX The library provides a fax machine for three dollars for one page and seventy-five cents for each additional page. Incoming faxes will be assessed ten cents per page.
Typewriter, TV/VCR , Photocopier, Microfilm Reader The library has a typewriter, TV/VCR, photocopier, and microfilm reader available for use in the library.
Tax Forms State and Federal tax forms are available from January 1 through April 15. VITA volunteers prepare tax statements free of charge twice a week during February and March..
Video, DVD, Cake Pans The library has videos, DVD's and cake pans available for checkout.
Talking Books Any visually impaired Nebraskan can make application for the talking book and Braille service at the library. Patrons will receive a machine to listen to the recordings and a catalog is available listing the titles that can be checked out through the Nebraska Library Commission.
Interlibrary Loan Can't find the book you are looking for -- interlibrary loan it from another library for a cost of shipping.
ESL /GED The Lexington Public Library has a selection of ESL and GED materials. We have also have a collection of children's and adult books in Spanish.
Books for Sale The library hosts an on-going book sale of materials at the rate of 10 cents per paperback and 25 cents per hardback or large soft covered books.
Donations Although supported by tax dollars from the City of Lexington, the Lexington Public Library accepts donations to enhance library service and materials. Donations to the Lexington Public Library Memorial fund provide special books and other materials in memory of special people. Donations to the Lexington Public Library Building Fund provide a basis for library expansion. The Friends of the Library volunteer their time and talents, sponsor events, and collect funds for future expansion. Become involved in your public library!
